Elmark was founded in 1983 by an acclaimed artist, who began a new hobby—hand painting signs in the garage of his parents' home. The young sign maker named his new venture "Elmark Signs," after his father's packaging company with the same name.

First family, then friends, and finally strangers demanded Timlyn Vaughan's eye-catching pieces. After two short years, Mr. Vaughan had enough business to move into the West Chester facility it would call home for the next four decades.

Throughout the 80s, Elmark established itself as West Chester's leading sign company as it pioneered new technologies in printing and die cutting. Elmark was one of the first in the nation to use self-adhesive vinyl, rather than hand painting, to wrap vehicles.

Throughout the 90s, Elmark expanded rapidly and entered the national trade show and metal sign market. Growth continued through the 2000s as the company became a leading provider of carved signs, made of high density urethane (HDU). Today, we leverage laser cutters, multi-layer direct printers, and other cutting-edge technologies to provide one of the broadest product mixes in the industry.

Elmark now helps thousands of brands enhance their messaging through custom made signs and other branded elements. We help engage patrons and staff, attract new customers, and embody the culture and spirit of our clients.
